Don't Look Back
Yolanda Cohen
You can't reinvent yesterday
By calling back the past
You can't make a bad thing good
When the die has already been cast
Yesteryears are past and gone
And less tomorrows up ahead
It's time to make some changes now
And forget the life that you have led
How you face every day
And how you view the task
While your days of life move on
Don't keep looking back
No need to look at where you've been
'Tis foggy through saddened eyes
Time on earth moves swiftly on
While you're nursing all those lies
The past has left some lessons
When put where it belongs
Leave your baggage at the cross
And then start traveling on
To life in Jesus Christ the Lord
Forgiven from all your sin
Give Him all your 'morrows now
Don't reach for the past again
Once forgiven, He also forgets
As you should also do
And don't pick up the past again
Or the things that trouble you
Jesus heals the wounded soul
Then you can start again
A new creation in Jesus Christ
Who knows where you have been
Don't stay on this road any longer
Destruction stands in the way
Your 'morrows can be reinvented
By the choice you make today.
